Those of you who love coffee will take it in almost any form. The weather can play a role in whether you prefer your coffee hot or cold. So it makes sense that if the summer weather is warm, you might prefer to drink a cold brew. The problem with making cold brew coffee is time. The time that you may not have. The HyperChiller could be the answer to getting a delicious cold brew quickly. In this HyperChiller V2 review, we take a look at why this product could change the way you drink cold brew coffee. Got 60 seconds?

Here’s something for you to sip on…

Did you know that 1.4 BILLION cups of coffee are consumed each day worldwide? Americans alone drink 400 million cups of coffee a day, making the United States the largest consumer of coffee! This really isn’t hard to understand when you consider all the different coffee drinks that are out there. Not to mention that there are baristas on almost every street corner in America.

But making cold brew coffee has its drawbacks. Most cold brew methods mean you have to let the coffee steep in the fridge for 12-24 hours. Even then, the coffee is cold, but not ICE COLD. If you want a really cold brew, you have to add ice, which dilutes the great coffee flavor.

So it’s a challenge to find a way to make a cold brew quickly without losing flavor. After all, running out of the house with that coveted cup of hot coffee is stressful enough. Making the same coffee cold would take even more time if you wanted to make the same coffee cold. The simplicity of the HyperChiller v2 means you’re just one step away from a cold brew. And you don’t have to stop at your local barista to get it.

What is the HyperChiller?

The HyperChiller v2 is a cold brew coffee maker. It can only do one thing. It cools hot drinks into cold drinks. It’s not just for coffee. The Hyperchiller v2 can be used for a variety of different drinks such as tea, wine, beer, and other adult beverages. It is made of BPA-free (Bisphenol A) plastic and food-grade stainless steel.

What’s The Difference Between Hyperchiller V1 and Hyperchiller V2?

The HyperChiller Version 1 had vents on the top to regulate pressure and allow heat to escape. The frozen chambers inside cause condensation. So when you pour your cold brew into another container, you are also pouring out extra water.

Version 2 fixes all of that. Version 2 improves the vent placement to significantly reduce the amount of water that can drip out. Other changes include improved threads for a better seal and to make it screwing in the chambers easier.

How Does The HyperChiller v2 Work?

Perhaps I should tell you what it can’t do. The HyperChiller v2 cannot make or brew coffee. That’s actually good news. This product is not another appliance that takes up space on your kitchen counter. It consists of only four parts: two inside chambers, a screw-on lid, and the outside chamber.

Here is how to use it:

Fill the two inner chambers with tap water. Pour the water from the second chamber into the larger one. Turn the lid on the smallest chamber. Turn the second chamber onto the lid. Place all three in the larger chamber and turn the lid on. Place the HyperChiller v2 in the freezer. It will take 6-12 hours for it to freeze completely. This depends on the initial water temperature and the freezer temperature. It works even better if you put it in the freezer the night before you use it.

Once you take it out of the freezer, you will have a chilled brew in two ways:

Place the HyperChiller directly under the brew spout and brew your coffee directly into the chamber. If the HyperChiller does not fit under the spout, pour the coffee from the coffee carafe directly into the chamber.

Wait 60 seconds for the hot brew to cool. You can do this faster by swirling the HyperChiller around. If you want your coffee to be extra cold, let it sit for two minutes.

The ice inside will not melt completely so you may get a second cup of cold brew. Pros and Cons of the HyperChiller v2

Pros

A chilled brew in 60 seconds. Works with all coffee makers: including K-cup machines. Chills a variety of beverages: Chills coffee, tea, wine, juice, and more. It’s not limited to just coffee. No dilution: No need to add ice to your drink unless you want to. Very few parts: It only has four parts. Dishwasher safe: Very easy to clean. Reasonable price.

Cons

It only holds 12 ounces: So if you want a never-ending cup of chilled coffee, this product falls short.

It’s 6.75 inches high: That means it will fit under most brewing nozzles but not all. You may need to remove the tray before placing it under the brew spout. Alternatively, you can pour the coffee from the carafe directly into the HyperChiller.

It can crack: As long as you place the HyperChiller upright in your freezer, this problem should not occur. Avoid placing it on its side.

How To Maintain Your HyperChiller v2?

The HyperChiller v2 is dishwasher safe and therefore very easy to clean, so it is always ready for use.

Before placing it in the freezer, make sure the threads are completely dry. Liquid trapped in the threads can cause the cap to pop off during the freezing process. The cap cannot be screwed back on once the HyperChiller is frozen if this happens.

Coffee produces oils. If you intend to use your HyperChiller v2 to chill other beverages, clean the inner chamber well to remove any oil residue. How Does The HyperChiller Compare to Other Cold Brew Methods? There are other cold brew coffee makers you can buy. For example, the Primula Burke Deluxe Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker makes about 30 ounces of cold brew coffee. But it will take you up to 24 hours to get it.

The Vinci Express Cold Brew Electric Coffee Maker is electric, so it’s more expensive. It takes less time- 5-25 minutes- and has four brewing strengths. The problem with this coffee maker is that there are a lot of parts to keep track of and clean. The coffee can get weaker over time. Also, it doesn’t chill the coffee as cold as the HyperChiller. You have to pour your coffee over ice, so you probably have to sacrifice flavor here.

Final Thoughts

The HyperChiller v2 is a very simple product. It does one thing and one thing only. It chills drinks. For anyone looking for an inexpensive way to get a cold brew, the HyperChiller is inexpensive and very easy to use. Since it works with all coffee makers, you won’t lose your favorite coffee flavor.
